From St Huberts road / Yarra Valley floor .... sweet cassis nose, dark and Blackberry bramble. Explodes at the front of the palate with attractive fruit, more dark berries before showing its savoury side of anis and spice . The tannins are very soft and the wine finishes round and delicious.

Some of the oldest Bloody Hill vines. Garnet red in colour with a nose of dark sweet cherry, fresh lovage, and smoke. Sweet strawberry and cherry fruit on the plate immediately followed by savoury, meaty umami notes. Very fine tannins and good length.

The (usually) 100% whole bunch rendition of syrah from Mayer. No mucking around. Needs a battalion of salumi, olives, bread, pickled things.
Bright red in colour with dark plum and blackberry fruit, pepper notes, as well as more lifted dry sichuan spice . Plenty of concentration of fruit on the palate, with plum, forest berries, and Blood orange notes. Gentle chewy tannins to finish.

Despite its ultra-modern looks, this eye-catching mezcal is produced with the utmost artisanal care and traditional methods. Verde Momento is made with 8 year old agave Espadin by mezcalero Doroteo Garcia in Tlacolula, Oaxaca. The agaves are cooked in an underground oven using ocote, holm oak, and pepper tree which give the mezcal a smokiness desirable for cocktails. After cooking for about 5 days, the agaves are tahona-crushed before being put into 1,500 litre fermentation vats. The natural fermentation can … more

Producer Notes - "The Naimanya vineyard sits high in the tiny sub-region of Flaxman's Valley on soils of sandy loam, gravel and quartz over clay. At 520m elevation it is amongst the highest Shiraz vineyards in South Australia. Fair winter rains and a cool summer gave us a healthy crop of excellent quality. Hand picked on the 7th April, 70% destemmed, 30% whole bunch, pressed to French oak (10% new, Saint Martin), matured for 20 months in barrel. 1940 bottles … more

Undoubtedly one of the top Roussanne's made in Australia. A truly beautiful wine that showcases the fragrance and perfume of roussanne, with texture and power one comes to expect from the Northern Rhone, but with a superb refreshing acid line.
Producer Notes - "The Roussanne grape owes its name to the reddish or russet bloom it develops on its skin as it reaches full maturity. This grape is late ripening and ideally suited to the Barossa climate.

Producer Notes - "The Mawson Road Vineyard in Lenswood has a steep south-westerly aspect and sits at an elevation of 560m at its highest point. It's planted to four of the classic Pinot clones (777, 114, 115, MV6) and this combination of ultra-cool site and clonal diversity offers a wine of great drive and complexity. High winter rains preceded a very cool spring. Late budburst, flowering and a cool autumn combined for an extremely late vintage. Hand-picked on the 13th … more

"Sang de Pigeon (pigeon's blood) is a nod to my former life as a jewellery valuer. It's the trade term for the colour of the finest rubies, invariably from the Mogok Stone Tract in Myanmar. The precious grapes for this fragrant and deeply coloured wine were grown far to the south-east, in South Australia's Barossa Valley.
"Fair winter rains, mild summer temperatures, low yields of high quality. Hand-picked from Smyth Road, Stonewell Road and Flaxman's Valley. 88% destemmed, 12% whole … more

"Wow. An especially exciting, vibrant nose of sharply defined raspberry, plum, redcurrant and deeper tones of blackberry. Fruit purity also shapes the front palate, which is clean, lean and beautifully poised; a string quartet bowing a long, exquisite harmonic line. This shapes a new definition of Barossa intensity, its fruit being nimble and dextrous atop a serious, studied bedrock. It will be fascinating to see how this develops." 98/100. As much as we love a racy, knife-edge sharp Chenin from the Loire Valley, we are equally advocates for the indulgent style Milton brings to the table. Rich and generous, like poached quinces melting on your tongue, wrapped in a frame of spicy oak. Plus, you can enjoy this indulgent wine guilt free - it's certified organic and biodynamic!

Winery Notes "Showing old vine intensity without heaviness, fragrant cranberry and wild cherry fruit lift, violets, earth, and garrigue herbs: the palate is pure with calming depth and intensity, but kept necessarily fresh by grainy tannins and a bright line of natural acid."

"An exercise in slender power, bringing early picked McLaren Vale Shiraz characters exhibited by cool blue and red fruit with layers of coal dust and earth to entice, supported by a gentle oak creaminess, which progresses to the palate exhibiting a deep fruit weight kept bright, nervy, and fleshy and filed down nicely by a fine and mineral tannin line."
