Vigna Rionda is historically the most revered vineyard of Serralunga, the source of some of the greatest, most structured, robust and long-lived Barolo. The name derives from the word rotonda (round) used to describe the amphitheatre shape of this south-facing vineyard. The Massolino family are the largest holder with 2.3 hectares (today Angelo Gaja has a fair chunk as well). The soil here is similar to the Parafada vineyard (limey/chalky marls) yet there is more chalk and also a higher … more

"This is fruit-driven and doesn't get weighed down by winemaking. It's bright and flavoursome, strawberry, red cherry, peanuts, mint and dried flowers. Medium-bodied, juicy and lively, with a lick of emery board tannin, a delicious succulence to it, and such high drinking appeal, and the finish is fresh with something of a blood orange tang and good length. It's a lovely glass of Nebbiolo and speaks of place. Massolino have pulled a rabbit out of the hat this vintage!" 92 … more

This parcel of Braunenberger Juffer offers up a generous fruits, round full mouthfeel. It has Richter’s hallmark layering and complexity, not though, the racey acid of the Graacher and Wehlener Kabinetts. It’s the one to drink early of the Kabinetts. Kind of like the Prüm’s Badstube Kabinett.

Max Ferd. Richter has been producing Riesling in the Mosel since 1680. The Richter wines exude great class and breeding along with their classical Mosel raciness, fruitiness and mineral complexity.
This Estate relies purely on must weight, not residual sugar, for the quality, extract and grip which makes Richter not only one of the most exciting estates in Germany, but one of the finest exponents of Riesling anywhere in the world.

With excellent southwestern exposure, the vineyards of Graach directly neighbor those of Wehlen. However, due to millions of years of alluvial deposits from the Mosel River, the Graach mountainside has a much richer, more fertile terroir, with an excellent watersupply. The wines of Graach are thusly vigorous, juicy, mouth-filling and with broadshoulders, with lots of citrus, floral and dried herbal notes as well as a luscious complexity of minerals, slate and flint.

From St Huberts road / Yarra Valley floor .... sweet cassis nose, dark and Blackberry bramble. Explodes at the front of the palate with attractive fruit, more dark berries before showing its savoury side of anis and spice . The tannins are very soft and the wine finishes round and delicious.

Some of the oldest Bloody Hill vines. Garnet red in colour with a nose of dark sweet cherry, fresh lovage, and smoke. Sweet strawberry and cherry fruit on the plate immediately followed by savoury, meaty umami notes. Very fine tannins and good length.

"A delicious gamay from Gerald Ellis's Meadowbank vineyard in the Derwent Valley, made by Peter Dredge. I'm all-in on Tasmanian gamay. I love it. Savoury, pure and beautifully weighted, it feels like it has been touched by the sea - all briny and rocky with savoury-edged red plum, cranberry and cherry fruits with some lovely exotic spice, pressed wildflower notes and light meaty nuance. So easy to drink with a bright cadence and plenty of spacious detail. It'll take a … more
