Trophy - Best Grenache of Show
97 Points
James Halliday Grenache Challenge 2020
"Ripe raspberry, rosy and minty perfume, a little soil and gravel. It's rich and throaty, almond and dark raspberry, a fair bit of grip from tannin, kind of dry, but with succulence of fruit. Some chamois-like texture on the finish, which is firm and pleasingly long. Quite well-packed this year, and almost a little sullen, but very good." - 94 Points Gary Walsh, Winefront.

The Head Red Shiraz 18 is amalgamation of fruit destined for Head's single vineyard wines, largely across cooler, higher altitude plots across Eden. Unlike some of their other wines, this bottling is mostly matured in old oak, letting the wine itself do most of the talking. Ripe tannins and juicy, plump fruit character is kept in check with fresh acidity. At $25 a bottle, the Head Red is an absolute steal.

Kris is from the Delle Venezie, the historical term for the three regions of the Veneto, encompassing Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the Veneto. The wine is classic Pinot Grigio - crisp and dry with notes of acacia flowers, citrus and almonds, the palate lean and refreshing with notes of blossom and honey - all with value for money in mind.
The labels for the Kris range were sketched by the late Riccardo Schweizer. Each of the inspiring and playful … more

A refined, elegant sparkling wine made from Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, and matured on lees for 3 years before disgorgement and release.
The bubbles are fine, the mouse is creamy and the length is terrific. Honeysuckle, lime butter on toast and the faintest hint of malt all combine to offer a very enjoyable sparkling experience.

A blend from both our sites and in a way the most important wine we create in terms of representing our ‘estate’ style. We endeavour to bring all the deliciousness and easy drinkability great Pinot Noir can deliver when handled with care.

From fruit grown in the Blue Rock vineyard, hand picked and fermented in stainless steel, with 30% aged in seasoned oak building texture. Shows a generosity and the typical of Kiwi Pinot Gris with a fuller, more unctuous mouthfeel and impression of fruit sweetness and generosity, though only 1.5g/L of residual sugar.

The perfect summer Sparkling! Delicious notes of fresh guava, tropical fruits, strawberry and cranberry. Light to medium bodied with a fine mousse, residual sweetness balanced deliciously with natural acidity and textural Pinot Noir elements.
Winery Notes "Since the beginning of our history, we have been producing limited quantities of Barolo Chinato and Vermouth, meticulously following our Family Recipe conveyed to us by our Great Grandfather.
In the early 1950s, we decided to stop the production because at that time the customers’ interests and tastes were deeply changing. They were increasingly focused on “liqueur” wines and Vermouths with nontraditional flavors, less character and less respectful of each wine region’s terroir.
In 2016 we decided again … more
