Louis Roederer make great Champagnes, starting with this one and climbing to the legendary Cristal. They are also pioneers in transparency, providing far more information about the makeup of their wines than is typical of other Champagnes. This blend is released from the 245th year of the House's operation, and the NV blend is made of 55% 2020 fruit, 35% from the 'perpetual reserve' and 10% from oak-aged base wines from as far back as 2010. "Unquestionably the deepest, richest wine in the lineup, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Secret des Sabon offers sensational notes of blackberries, cassis, crushed rocks, graphite, and bouquet garni. Full-bodied, ultrafine, seamless, and pure, it has more elegance and purity than the 2010 and is reminiscent of the 2001. It's a gorgeous, extraordinary, layered, seamless Châteauneuf-du-Pape to drink over the coming two decades or more." 99 Jeb Dunnuck

"On another level, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Secret Des Sabon is stacked and packed and ranks with the top 2-3 wines in this great vintage. A huge nose of blackcurrants, melted licorice, graphite, garrigue and pepper gives way to an uber-full-bodied, concentrated, massively endowed wine that has an insane level of opulence and decadent, sweet tannins, and a huge finish. This is a tour de force in wine that readers need to taste to … more

"Vauprin" is a vineyard located in the village of Lignorelles (North Western corner of Chablis) and is known for being one of the highest altitude parcels in Chablis.
This particular wine is fermented in stainless steel, but then aged 50% in 2-5 year old barriques and 50% in stainless. Without the oak to "tame" the wine, thios would be one serious searing Chablis! As it is it has wonderful texture, grea mineral drive and excellent Chardonnay fruit aromatics.

Cellar master Arnaud Lavantureux expounds that his "idea of wine is to show off the exceptional terroirs of Chablis with élevages in wood that are more 'Côte de Beaune' in style, to have a combination of flesh on the attack with saline tension on the finish." His latest release from the grand cru Vaudésir majestically expresses this duality: there is a textural and aromatic opulence comparable to the top wines of Meursault or Corton-Charlemagne, expressed in the form of a … more

Chorey-lès-Beaune is a village in the Côte de Beaune, located just north of Beaune itself. Often overshadowed by more prominent neighbouring appellations, it produces wines that are approachable, balanced, and distinctly Burgundian. 'Les Petits Champs Longs' holds particular significance for Romain and Evelyne, as it is the first vineyard they purchased en plein droit (in full ownership). Nectarine, white peach and citrus, with a hint of exotic fruit, nice cashew nut oak and spiced pear, it’s complex and intense with … more
