Allies Tuerong Pinot Noir 2017

The warm and sun drenched vineyards here produce wines with great depth of colour and flavour, ripe and rich with drying tannins. The 2017 benefitted from the cooler conditions and is showing plum and spice with a mild herbal dimension from some stem inclusion. The palate is rich, with firm and very long tannins and, thanks to the cooler weather, a refreshing acid finish. A powerful and well balanced wine that will reward some cellar time. - Winemaker Notes

Álvaro Palacios 'Camins del Priorat' Carinyena-Garnatxa 2017

Darkly spiced, meaty and featuring root vegies, and their ashy-earth. Dark-fruited and leather-edged, with a deep, pure earthiness, nutty tannin, and a delightfully controlled rusticity. Joyous Priorat Garnacha tell-tales of orange juice and ruby grapefruit perkiness are there too, with the cheeriest aftertaste. Garnacha Samsó.

Alvaro Palacios L'Ermita 2004

l'Ermita is one of the Icon wines of Spain. From the hills of Priorat, this shows the region style perfectly - rich and powerful but with the structure and underlying minerality to balance it all out. While the ines look great young, they certainly benefit from time in the bottle.

Amanoto Junmai Ginjo Sake 300ml

Amanoto's 'green label' Junmai Ginjo shows beautiful purity with some subtle yeast complexity on the nose. There are also hints of banana and herb. It is elegant but powerful on the palate, showing hints of mushroom flavours, with clean, crisp, zesty citrus acidity and a nice dry finish.

Serve chilled or room temperature.

Serve with: Tuna salad, tempura, beef carpaccio with baby herbs, sushi, sashimi.

Amisfield Pinot Noir 2016

Winemaking - Approximately 10% whole-bunch clusters were included in some of the ferments. After fermentation the wine is tasted daily to assess the tannin development and is left on the skins for extended time. Maturation for ten months in 20% tight-grain French oak.

Youthful aromatic expressions of sweet red cherries, mulberries and plums lead to a complex and lingering palate. The oak is light and subtle to complement the fine grained tannins and supple acidity.

Region: Central Otago

André Bonhomme Viré-Clessé Vieilles Vignes 2016 Magnum

This cuvée is completely different because it’s from vines that are between 70 to 95 years old on clay and limestone. All the wines are separated during winemaking before blending. So, for 12 months all the wines are in oak ranging from new (15 to 20%) to 8 years old. Then the family blends all the barrels in stainless tanks to spend a further nine months or more.
