Cavallotto Barolo Bricco Boschis 2018 Magnum

The Bricco Boschis Cru is a truly profound vineyard; an amphitheatre-shaped site that produces this estate's most emblematic Barolo. This comes from vines with an average age of 50 years, mostly situated in two parcels within this single vineyard. The first is the Punta Marcello, which lies at the top of the slope next to the cantina. This cool terroir is known for its fragrant, pale juice and long, angular tannins. Then, there is the Vigna Colle Sudovest parcel, lying … more

The fruit for this flagship Riserva derives from the small sub-terroir of the Bricco Boschis known as Vigna San Giuseppe. A steep slope that sits behind the cantina, this 2.38-hectare parcel has long been considered the sweet spot for this vineyard, consistently delivering one of the greatest Barolos of the region.

Here you get the best of everything: altitude (but not too much); excellent drainage (but enough water retention thanks to the limestone and clay, ensuring the vines don't stress … more

César farms his vineyards organically, with indigenous yeasts. The vines are all over 100 years old. He uses minimal new oak in the winery and whole bunches to varied extents with the Mencia. Chalari Chenin Blanc Pet Nat 2023

Organically grown vineyard in the Swan Valley, these are epic 70 year old vines on sandy/clay soil. Alex Cook has been growing here for over 50 years. The wine is lip-smacklingly dry, notes of apple, lime juice and a touch of tropical green melon that's balanced beautifully with a chalky texture, subtle saline and the natural acids from both bubbles and fruit.

Chalari Shiraz Tempranillo 2022

New-school cool meets old school sensibilities, Chalari can do it all. They focus on classic varieties but made with a fresh eye. Their Shiraz Tempranillo from the Great Southern Western Australia reminds us of a great Rioja, with luscious spice from oak ageing, wrapped around dense forest berry and charred red pepper, a generous finish for a terrific price.

Chambers Rutherglen Dry Flor Apera 750ml

In Australia, the term sherry is off limits, so our version of the classic style is known as Apera. It's based on the 'fino' style of light dry sherry, which is made in Jerez and surrounds using the Palomino variety. What starts as a light, crisp white wine is then fortified (i.e., it's alcohol level is boosted with the addition of a spirit) before ageing under what's called a 'veil' of flor yeast, which carpets the surface of the wine … more

Champagne André Clouet Grande Reserve Brut NV 375ml

100% Pinot Noir.

I just can't get enough of it - especially at this price. The Andre Clouet grande reserve brut is a delicious wine made from 100 per cent pinot noir with all the richness and definition that variety offers. There's plenty of fine bead, red fruits mingled with citrus, and earthy, warm spice (think star anise and cinnamon), zesty and dry on the finish. It builds on the palate and is quite voluptuous, almost full- bodied for champagne, more
