This humbly priced Sangiovese is the surprise dark horse that never stops going. Rarely does it drop out of position as our number one bestseller, and when it does, its usually not for long. It's plump and generously fruited, with enough lipsmacking acidity to bring people back to it time and time again. Plus, at well under $20 - you'd be a fool not to grab two!!

"The fruit is sourced, as usual, from the Colbinabbin vineyard (starting in 2001) and the Col Mountain vineyard (starting in 2014). It is made in a similar way to the Pinot Noirs, with the exception of seeing around 20% whole bunch inclusion in the fermentations (rather than zero or close to zero for the Pinots). The 2023 is very fragrant with violet, dark plum, sweet earth and chocolate aromas. The palate is exceptionally smooth and supple with silky tannins. It … more

Swap out your usual week-night white for this fascinating Falanghina. A variety native to Campania (the heel of Italy's boot), this one does it all. Expect fragrant florals and soft stonefruit scents, and a palate that's supercharged with thirst-quenching freshness and a tart lemon-sherbet finish.

From 21 year old vines, grown on grey clay-loam soils in Yarra Junction, this Sauv Blanc walks the line between contemporary style with familiar character. There’s a bright, fresh and slight tropical note to the nose, with a zippy palate that finishes remarkably sleek. Aided by some clever winemaking, this is a real gem.

"This Grenache from Heathcote received a few hours skin contact while being gently pressed, fermented without the addition of yeast to dryness in old French barrels and spent five months maturing on yeast lees. It is a delicately coloured rosé, fresh and fragrant of roses, red currant and cranberry with a fresh, smooth, dry, textured palate. It balances the line of having enough mouthfeel and flavour without having too much. It's proven to be a pleasurable wine to make as … more

"This wine, to state the obvious, has been quite a while coming! In 2014 we began making experimental ferments using four clones from this exciting vineyard and decided to mature the blended bottled wines until we felt they were settled and singing. The 2018 Col Mountain is based on the smooth and aromatic Shiraz clones PT23 and 1654 with a little of the robust and rich Yalumba and R6WV28. The Col Mountain wines are from deep red soil with a … more

Producer's Notes - "Viognier grown on the pre-Cambrian era soils of Heathcote, Victoria.
Organically grown viognier from Toolleen was pressed firmly as whole clusters. The juice was fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned Stockinger puncheons. An expressive wine - Earl Grey tea, white flower potpourri and herbal inflections lead to fuzzy white peach and tangerine zest.
I am deeply fond of the gastronomic white wines of the Rhone valley and encourage you to enjoy this … more

The 2021 vintage was exceptional in Heathcote, with all the makings of our finest yet. One of our coldest winters in recent memory was followed by a warm and dry spring, with perfect, even set and growth. The warm, dry and consistent conditions prevailed throughout summer, resulting in highly concentrated small berries. Lifted perfume with layers of red and black fruits. Pristine and poised with floral notes, tar, gun flint and exceptional concentration and purity. The palate is seamless and … more

From a well regarded Heathcote winery this is drinking just as one would hope a mature shiraz would. Rich, ripe, dark berry and plummy notes are softened by aged earthy notes and cushioned by a judicious use of oak. It's a cracker.

Producer notes "Reminiscent of our wines in the early years, a true Georgia's Paddock style of raspberry with red earth notes and soft integrated tannins. While this vintage initially appears a little closed, given a few minutes, opens up to a brilliant red fruit and spicy nose. Juicy strawberries and fresh raspberry fill a generous palate with great length. Delicious now but easily cellared for those with patience. High grade cork sealed, 15.0% alcohol"

Originally from the volcanic soils of Southern Italy, it makes sense that Fiano would find home in the equally remarkable Cambrian soils of Heathcote. The guys at Jasper Hill have a ball making this cracking Fiano in their Heathcote site, a great mid-week wine laden with texture and notes of quince, hazelnut and fresh honeycomb, right from the hive.

"Paul Osicka's wines from this small, new, bush vine grenache vineyard in Heathcote are both beautiful, and unique." - Campbell Mattinson
Producer notes "This is a lighter and more delicate release, but not at the expense of presence and especially not at the expense of persistence. This release is a nebbiolo in grenache clothing; actually it feels quite Grenache, truth be told, but the tannin framework is in that sleight-of-hand light-but-insistent mould"
