A blend of four parcels from the Rising Vineyards Birdwood, Bibs, House and No. 1 blocks. Handpicked, aged in a small quantity of new oak and largely left alone for the fermentation process, allowing it to develop a richness and complexity. Grilled stone fruit, soft figs and toasted hazelnuts, with sumptuous length and refreshing acidity retaining liveliness in the wine.

Hand-picked from 415 Block on the 15th March, 2024. The wine is a mix of destemmed fruit (50%) and whole bunch ferment (50%) aged in old oak for 10 months.
There is a faint hint of crushed rock and deli meats on the nose that follows through to the palate - which is quite frisky! It has plenty of lively fruit and refreshing acidity with a supple, silky texture.

Within Kiedrich’s Gräfenberg Grand Cru lies a small 0.5-hectare parcel once known as the Gräfenberg-Lay. Sitting in one of the steepest portions of the vineyard, the Lay is located at the transition between Gräfenberg and Turmberg and is known for having the highest concentration of phyllite slate on the hill. The vines here are now between 40 and 60 years old.
This site was originally purchased by Dr Robert Weil in the 19th century, using the dowry from his marriage … more

The vineyard of Kiedrich Gräfenberg-or 'hill of the counts'-has been used to designate Robert Weil's finest wines since the site was classified as "Weinlage 1 Klasse" in 1867. Home to Weil's oldest vines (up to 80 years of age, with the majority on their own rootstock) it makes perfect sense that Wilhelm Weil decided that it is only from this site that his Grosse Gewächs will derive. In fact, Weil's aim has been to produce a wine of a similar … more

Think about everything you love in this grower's Spätlese, and then add some more. A wine of sublime purity and chiselled tension, the '22 offers up a kaleidoscopic array of flavour-try all kinds of citrus, quince, sweet yellow florals, woody herbs and slatey notes-perfectly balanced by thrilling, daisy-fresh acidity and mineral precision. Weil's picking army, which numbers up to 70 strong, has worked its magic again, gifting a beguiling, pure, tangy wonder that seems to dissolve in the mouth. The … more

The vines on this steep, four-hectare vineyard are now between 40 and 60 years old. At up to 300 metres, this is the highest of the three Weil hillside sites, yet thanks to its southern aspect and deeper, iron-rich, weathered slate soils, it also produces the most opulent and seductive of these wines (when young). The Weil team often use the term 'baroque' when describing wines from Klosterberg in reference to the lift and generosity. Like all of Weil's single … more

This cuvée is a blend of fruit from high altitude sites dotted around the village. This includes the brilliantly named Sandgrub vineyard, but also a good dollop of wine from Wasseros (a steep, southwest-facing vineyard that abuts the Gräfenberg vines). The soils of these sites are typically composed of stony, fragmented phyllite interlaced with loess and loam. This is the only dry wine in this offer raised entirely in stainless steel.

This is 90% Sangiovese with 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino, aged in tonneaux and barriques for twelve months. An intense ruby-red colour with violet reflections, the fruity aroma is atypical of Sangiovese with notes of cherry and wild berries. Harmonious, well-structured and lightly tannic, it is a wine that can easily mature for a period ranging from four to eight years.

Winery Notes - "The Eden Valley sits high in the Barossa ranges, above the floor of the Barossa Valley. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty punctuated by ancient Red Gums with patches of vines hidden amongst undulating grazing land. Exposed reefs of moss-covered metamorphic rock hint at what lies beneath the soil's surface. Vines growing in this shallow rocky soil produce fine flavoured Riesling with a mineral purity that comes from vine roots pushing through cracks in submerged … more

Not available at cellar door, but this outstanding Cabernet in a magnum is perfect for a family luncheon. Made from the Rockford "Home Block", this is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
After being open fermented and basket pressed, the wine is aged in seasoned French oak hogsheads and large vats for three years. This allows the tannins to soften, colours and flavours to consolidate and achieves a deeply varietal wine that is soft and generous.
With a track record of ageing comfortably … more
