Producer Notes - "Balgownie Vineyard is a name that should need no introduction to lovers of Victorian wine, an icon of the 70's and 80's it has produced some of the most remarkable mature Australian wines I have had the pleasure of drinking. Indeed my cellar is well stocked with them thanks to 10+ years of collecting.
Established 1969 200m asl near the banks of Myers Creek in Maiden Gully on Ordovician shale, quartz and ironstone rubble, thanks to current … more

Producer Notes - "Planted 1999 Dash Farms sits perched at over 450m asl on the Southern granitic slopes of Mt Alexander (Leanganook) looking back towards Mt Macedon and the Macedon Ranges. Like Ray-Monde, it sits just outside the Macedon Ranges GI. Ripening for Chardonnay occurs
around a week earlier than my family's vineyard Cobaw Ridge.
These lean granite soils and high altitude confer both concentration and freshness at … more

Doug's Vineyard is situated on the outskirts of the township of Romsey, in the Macedon Ranges. Owned by the Newnham family it was planted 20 years ago to predominantly MV6 and smaller amounts of 114 and 115 clone pinot noir.
A cool hamlet, the vines sit at around 500m altitude, atop a North and North East facing hillside on red rocky volcanic basalt soil, moderating vigour and providing amazing intensity to the fruit, ripening … more

Born from disillusionment with the standard of Pet Nats flooding the market, the Jumping Juice Pet Nat was a two year long labour-of-love courtesy of Patrick Sullivan and Xavier Goodridge. Natty-wine scene darlings, these guys have managed to maintain the cool guy label without releasing "funky" (faulty) wines. Their pet nat is a triumph, a citrus pithy, watermelon-fresh fizz bomb made from Vermentino and Nero di Troia sourced from the Riverland, SA.

Winery Notes - "Pale straw, clear & bright. The bouquet reveals white florals with preserved lemon, honeydew melon & spicy lime notes, finishing with a burst of saline vigour. Expansive lemon curd & citrus flavours are complemented by hints of honey, with savoury salted hazelnut overtones. A pleasing slight chalky dryness provides definition; the finish is crisp & clean."

Winery Notes - "Pale straw in colour showing intriguing aromas of Mirabelle plum, apple blossom & lime leaf with savoury notes of almond skin & floral spice. The palate nods to its Italian heritage with moreish saline acidity and generous weight and texture. Tangy lime, roasted hazelnut & a hint of sea spray complete the vibrant, textural experience. Try it with Kingfish Ceviche or Risi al pinoli (lemon & pine nut rice with roast capsicum)."

Though this isn't the first vintage that old school Barossan producer Kalleske has been making this wine, we are always pleasantly surprised to see it. Not just because one doesn't traditionally associate Barossa with the new-school orange wine craze, but also because far from being a gimmick - it a pretty spectacularly delicious wine. 100% biodynamic single-vineyard Viognier, wild fermented and left on skins for 11 days. It has sumptuous Viognier character, ripe golden peaches, wafts of bush honey, glace … more

"If I had to choose one wine to show how great dry German Riesling can be I would choose a Keller Riesling. Those wines are the German Montrachets" - Jancis Robinson
The Hipping site is quite steep and facing the Rhine with red shale and slate soils. Often leaner and tighter with a more refined herbal mineral style. The slope is on an 80% incline at it's steepest.

"There is a patch of red limestone in the Kirchspiel Grossen Lagen that makes a cask of exotic slightly wild wine that desn't always ferment to complete dryness. This is the normal "RR". In 2022 KP and Felix also had a cask each of top-class Abtserde and Morstein (destined for GG's) that also stopped fermenting at about 12g/l residual. The temptation was too great to create a "super cuvee" and the 3 were blended to greatness.

"Exotic citrus nose, spiced like ginger, 'spice' in the texture as well as the flavour. Ripe citrus yet balanced by intense freshness. Slightly chewy texture. Firm, dense but lively freshness on the finish, spicy on the finish. 17/20 points" jancisrobinson.com
