"Plenty of blueberry and cherry, spice, ginger biscuit, rosehip, slight soil-like earthiness. It's a fleshy wine, indeed, plump, with a plenty of spice and ginger root, earthy and silty, raspberry and redcurrant, but has this wild edge and joyous character and bounce. Finish is good too, with a lot of smudgy tannin to close. What fun." Gary Walsh - The Wine Front

Another bloody Chardonnay? Don't mind if we do! Always a crowd pleaser, pour yourself a glass and see why we stock vintage after vintage of this wine. Texture, richness, a little dash of oak and healthy dose of freshness from a cool vineyard site. Perhaps it's not just another bloody chardonnay after all?

65/35% gamay/pinot noir; the parcels are fermented separately with the gamay made with 100% whole bunches and the pinot with 25% whole bunches. A light crimson purple. An uber-fragrant bouquet featuring red summer fruits, floral notes, tobacco leaf and a little Dashi soy! Gently fleshy, flavoursome and long. A delicious wine to drink now and over the next 2-3 years." 94pts Philip Rich - Halliday Wine

"Fermented and matured in one four-year-old puncheon. No mlf. A very bright green gold. Another super chardonnay from Thick as Thieves in 2024. This beauty has aromas of freshly picked yellow nectarines together with grilled nuts and some light sea spray scents. Even better on the saline, tightly wound and very long palate. Great now and over the next 3-5 years at least. In a word, terrific! Only 60 dozen made." (Philip Rich - Halliday Wine Companion 96pts)

Complex and varietal. Aromas of honeysuckle, deli meats and malt with hints of green pineapple and ginger. Background sulphides add a further layer of interest.Textured and balanced. A generous core of fruit to start followed by fine tannins that build on the mid and back palate. Flavours of green pineapple and wet slate. A viscous mouthfeel and a dry savoury finish that screams out for food!

Winery Notes - "Vines with an average age of 40 years. The vines are planted north of Puligny, on the border of Meursault. Facing east on a gentle clay-limestone soil slope, the vineyard has perfect conditions for the Chardonnay grape variety to grow. Concentrated and pure, this Premier Cru combines great aromatic complexity and refined style. The palate is well-rounded with notes of ripe yellow fruits. It has a tonic finish, with hints of spice."

Winery Notes - "Vines with an average age of 35 years. This Meursault Premier Cru is unconventional. Its aromas are characteristic of clay-limestone soil and in particular, limestone rock subsoil. On the nose you will notice a mix of flint and pure fruit. It is sharp, light and mineral, with a saline finish."
90-93 Points. Allen Meadows, Burghound - "A vague suggestion of the exotic can be found on the aromas of white peach, acacia blossom and citrus confit. The … more

Winery Notes - "Vines with an average age of 35 years. We mix together 12 plots in order to make a classic, representative Meursault wine. A pure wine with character, often described as a sweet and dry wine. It has hints of yellow fruit with a citrus finish."
91-93 Points. Allen Meadows, Burghound - Here too a discreet touch of wood can be found on the pretty aromas of mineral reduction, zest and a similar floral top note. There is … more

Winery Notes - "Vines with an average age of 25 years from a 1.28Ha parcel. The village of Puligny is famous for its grands crus. The Chalumeaux terroir is located near Hameau de Blagny, on a hillside facing east and on very rocky marly limestone soil. It has a beautiful aromatic complexity that combines concentration and finesse. Floral aromas and notes of roasted hazelnuts are underlined by an elegant minerality."

It's not hard to see why this wine was a gold medallist at the Yarra Valley Wineshow, savoury and structured, yet pretty and soft. Balance is key, and the Gathering Fields has it in spades. Expect lively tannins and tart pomegranate juice bursts of acidity. Notes on the nose of red cherry, forest berry and a whiff of dusty terracotta earth.
