A gorgeous blend of Semillon and lesser known (in Australia) varieties Clairette and Ugni Blanc, sourced from old vine plantings in the Barossa. Typically quite neutral varieties, clever winemaking from Pete Schell at Spinifex has coaxed out white peach fruit character, and pretty scents of white pepper and freshly picked herbs.

Pete Schell, winemaker at Spinifex, took one look at the 'more is more' mentality of the Barossa Valley and knew it wasn't for him. His pared back, modern style makes for unpretentious and highly drinkable wines. Take the La Cigale, for example, dark fruited and savoury, with Provençal notes of blood plums, redcurrant and fresh rosemary.

If you're worried that a rosé from the Barossa is going to be as hot and heavy as many of the reds are, let us put your mind at ease. Spinifex has crafted a rosé just as crisp and refreshing as any good Provençal rosé. Bright scents of pink grapefruit zest upfront, the palate is refreshingly mineral, with a Campari-orange bitterness to the finish.
