Prosper Delord was a travelling distiller who upon discovering Armagnac fell in love with the spirit and decided to start Maison Delord in 1893. Today Jerome and Sylvain Delord, Prosper's great grandchildren continue the tradition with the same passion, knowledge and love that has been handed down through the generations. Distilled in 1963 and barrel aged until its recent bottling, one can enjoy extraordinary scents of toasted nuts, fresh peach, French vanilla bean, tart plums and peppery spice from this … more

Grown on 27-year-old vines, winemaker Luke Lambert had a great pay off for an intense harvest period filled with twists and turns. Their patience paid off however, it's a bright, fresh and eminently drinkable drop that you might not have recognised as Cabernet Sauvignon if you're used to the dense, dark styles of yesteryear.

"Made with 10% whole bunches and matured in French puncheons (33% new). A medium ruby garnet. A little reduction, which quickly blows off to reveal aromas of wild strawberries, damson plums, a little rose petal and subtle hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. There's good intensity on the medium-bodied palate together with fine but firm tannins. This will only get better over the next four to six years, if not longer." 95 points, Philip Rich, The Wine Companion

Descendientes de José Palacios (DJP) is one of three estates of the family of Alvaro Palacios. The 'descendientes' are Alvaro Palacios and his nephew Ricardo Perez Palacios, both of whom grew up in the area of Rioja. The estate began when they identified very old plantings on Mencía on the high mountainous slopes of Corullón, which they have in subsequent years renovated the vineyards and refined their approach to vinifying Mencía.
This particular bottling comes from the Las Llamos plot, … more

The big brother to Petalos. This wine shows extra depth and increased minerality. This is a seriously good wine that rivals Bordeaux/Burgundy/Barolo for sense of place, intrigue and complexity. Look out for the Single Vineyard DJP wines for a mind blowing experience.

Mencia is one of the rare gems that you only find in Spain. Similar to Cab Franc with its crushed raspberries and floral characters paired with firm structure. This is probably the best introduction to variety around, plus it is a stunning wine in its own right. Petalos is a regional expression of Bierzo Mencía, a style largely responsible for putting Mencía on the global wine map, while the Corullon is akin to their 'Grand Cru' bottling.

"This Grenache from Heathcote received a few hours skin contact while being gently pressed, fermented without the addition of yeast to dryness in old French barrels and spent five months maturing on yeast lees. It is a delicately coloured rosé, fresh and fragrant of roses, red currant and cranberry with a fresh, smooth, dry, textured palate. It balances the line of having enough mouthfeel and flavour without having too much. It's proven to be a pleasurable wine to make as … more

"This wine, to state the obvious, has been quite a while coming! In 2014 we began making experimental ferments using four clones from this exciting vineyard and decided to mature the blended bottled wines until we felt they were settled and singing. The 2018 Col Mountain is based on the smooth and aromatic Shiraz clones PT23 and 1654 with a little of the robust and rich Yalumba and R6WV28. The Col Mountain wines are from deep red soil with a … more

Michael Dhillon's eponymous side-project allows him freedom to make mistakes he might otherwise not have at his day job at Bindi. The Accidental Red started as a rosé gone wrong, then it became a red gone very right. Shiraz fermented with Merlot skins, juicy and vibrant, even better a little chilled.

Producer Notes - "This new project from the granite soils in the northern end of the Macedon Ranges at 460m above sea level is an exciting addition to our activities. The vineyard was established in 1995 and the fruit has ostensibly been "lost" interstate until new Victorian owners took over in spring 2021. The new regime has quickly invested in the infrastructure and fine-tuned activities and several top producers are sourcing fruit from this excellent site. The Riesling was harvested … more

"This is the third release from our association with the Glenhope Macedon Ranges vineyard that was established in the late 1990s. Each year it feels like we have been able to refine the picking decision and winemaking, which is very similar to the way we make the Bindi Chardonnays (wild yeast, barrel fermentation, time on yeast lees). The nose has the classic array of aromas; lemon, cashew, spice and orange blossom. The palate is fresh and filling, textured in fruit … more

The Blue Label chardonnay was made with premium hand picked grapes, from selected local vineyards in the Yarra Valley. 2021 was a great vintage yielding fully ripe grapes with great balance of acidity. The wine was made in a traditional style using French Oak. It is medium to full in body with creamy almond meal texture and pleasing acidty. Bottled under screw-caps to ensure quality and consistency.

"Sourced from the 1969-planted Westgate vineyard in the Grampians, aged nine months in French barriques (15% new). An auspicious debut for this new label started by Melanie Chester (winemaker at Giant Steps) and Ben Mullen (from Mulline) and their respective partners. A brilliant crimson purple. Geez, this smells good. Aromas of dark fruits, lavender, graphite, a little olive tapenade and garrigues. Textured with velvety, persistent tannins and bright acidity. A delicious wine, that while hard to keep your hands off … more
