Sutton Grange Fairbank Syrah 2020
As far as $30 bottles of Shiraz go, you can't do much better than Sutton Grange's Fairbank Syrah. Year after year, this wine is lauded - and we can see why! The 2020 is a collaborative effort, owing to disastrous frosts that decimated yield. However, careful handling of fruit from Heathcote and Northern Harcourt has ensured this exceptional wine hasn't lost its way. Made in a Northern Rhône-esque style, wild berry fruit is abundant, olive tapenade brininess and bay leaf fragrance, framed by fine but persistent tannin and cracked black pepper spice.
