Domaine de Triennes Rosé IGP Méditerranée 2020 375ml

70% Cinsault, 25% Grenache, and 5% Merlot.

n 1989, two Burgundians, Jacques Seysses, founder of Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, joined by their Parisian friend, Michel Macaux, went in search of new vineyards. Their attention turned to Provence where they were convinced the potential for great wines was enormous. After a long search, they discovered the Domaine du Logis de Nans in the Var, east of Aix en Provence. They were immediately attracted to its gently sloping hillside with … more

Guigal Cotes du Rhone 2018 375ml

Brilliant ruby. Vibrant cherry and cassis aromas are complicated by licorice, violet and floral nuances. Sappy, gently sweet dark fruit flavors show very good energy, and a peppery nuance adds lift and spicy bite. Finishes smoky and long, with supple tannins sneaking in late to add shape. Jules IGP Provence Rose 2020

Pure Provence in style, this is a great all-occasions wine, and a first rate introduction to French rosé. Made and priced to over-deliver. Full in the mouth and with an extra layer of juicy zestiness, classic strawberries and cream with a drop of mandarin juice, and a bittering, complexing finish, akin to the closing bite of a good gin and tonic. An easy wine to love and everything it should be – refreshing, straightforward, delicious and highly moreish!

Chateau Fontareche Corbieres Rouge Vieilles Vignes 2019

Wonderfully lifted violets, mulberry and blue fruits all underlined by gentle smoke and graphite. The palate has brimming with a core of dark fruits, sweet and savoury notes with a really nice focus and buzzy energy. Really is surprising the level of subtle complexity at this level that remains so easy to drink at the same time.

Pepe's Beret Chardonnay 2020

What makes this chardonnay tick is the influence of differently toasted French oak. After the fermentation, the fine yeast is stirred up periodically gaining the wine's velvety mouthfeel. The nose has intense aromas of ripe apples, elegant bourbon vanilla and some toffee. The palate carries on these flavours in a wonderfully smooth and velvety journey.

Delas Côtes du Rhône 'Saint Esprit' 2019

60% Syrah, 40% Grenache.

Unusually for Cotes du Rhone this is majority Shiraz, rather than Grenache. As a result the Saint-Esprit's deep color has a dark, plum-like hue. The nose is classical Syrah, with berry fruit, violet and licorice. It has a full, rounded palate with delicate tannins. Excellent value.

Uva Non Grata Gamay VDF 2020

Uva Non Grata (Latin for 'ungrateful grapes') refers to the historical downgrading of Gamay while Pinot Noir became the ascendant of the two grapes in Burgundy. Gamay loves the granite/siliceous soils of the vineyards in the hills to the north west of Lyon in eastern France. The grapes were hand picked deliberately early to maintain freshness. In the cellar, grapes are vinified using traditional carbonic maceration techniques followed by a short cuvasion to keep the upfront, juicy fruit characters in … more
