Argyros 'Cuvee Monsignori' Old Vine Assyrtiko 2022

Organic

100% Assyrtiko from one of Argyros' oldest vineyards, where vines are cultivated in the traditional basket style, called "kouloura". Weaving them into nests, low to the ground, they are protected from Santorini's harsh winds. Cuvee Monsignori sees no oak, just extended lees aging, allowing the saline drive and fine tannin inherent to Assyrtiko to take centre stage.

"Excessively old Assyrtiko vineyards, at least two hundred years old, giving minute yields. Fermented, partially uninoculated, in stainless steel, at cool temperatures … more

Douloufakis Dafnios Vidiano 2023

Organic

Nikos Douloufakis has almost single-handedly revived the Vidiano grape, a rare, indigenous white variety from the island of Crete. Like the better know Assyrtiko from Santorini, Vidiano handles heat with aplomb and also makes equally as fascinating a wine.

Crisp, lighly textural, almost Semillon-like. Greep apple, delicate green herbal notes, a waft of honey and lone fine chalky acid finish. Drink now or over next 4-5 years (where it will age a bit like a Hunter Sem.) … more

Zafeirakis Limniona Young Vineyards 2020

Organic,Biodynamic

Limniona is an ancient, nearly extinct Greek red wine grape variety from Thessaly that has been revived by winemakers, most notably Christos Zafeirakis. It produces elegant, complex red wines with a medium body, vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and aromas of red berries, cherries, herbs, and earthy notes.

The Younger vineyards here have produced a wine that with a few years of age, show juicy dark red berry flavours with spice & pepper notes. The tannins are fine, but restrained … more
