Louro is a blend of Godello with a small amount of Treixadura from parcels located in the villages of Chandoiro, Lentellais, Outardepregos and Santa Cruz. After decades of conventional farming, the organic practices of Rafa have begun to revitalize the soils of these sites and Louro is becoming more complex with each vintage. Louro is fermented in French oak foudres and aged on its lees for four months. Up to 10% of the blend in Louro will be Treixadura, a … more

Ramos Pinto Porto Lagrima White is the sweetest of all Casa Ramos Pinto Ports with fairly high sugar content - around 136 grams per liter. To counterbalance this sugary taste, white, well-ripened grape varieties are used, which lend this wine sufficient strength and flavor to harmonize its sweet and fruity flavors. It is complex with almost exotic flavors. It is a bright, golden color, with lovely flavors of honeysuckle, white flowers, apples and pears. The finish is full and long-lasting. … more

As names go, Garganega is a mouthful. Most will know it better as the majority variety in Soave, a crisp yet textural Italian white that occupies many of our customers' fridges. Hailing here from King Valley, this drop hits the hallmarks of its Italian counterpart and then some - think pears, waxy honeycomb from the hive and meyer lemon pith.

The palate is light and fresh with flavours of green tropical fruits, honeycomb and green apple. A subtle mid palate sweetness is balanced by chalky acidity and a slightly savoury finish.

As the winemaker at Ravensworth, Bryan Martin, loves to tell us - 'Nebbiolo and Barbera go together like bread and butter'. Each offers different parts that combine to make one very delicious whole - plush berry fruit and cranberry tartness meets structure, longevity and hints truffle-esque savoury.

"It's loaded with spice and florals, not overtly viognier-flexed but there's pretty, sweet elements and a glossiness to texture that gives you an idea about the white grape inclusion. The perfume, cinnamon-clove-cardamom brown spices on red cherry, dark plum, green olive and some bergamot tea and alpine herb notes. Flavours roll similarly, quite rich in a way but a brace of tightening tannins, dusty, powdery, do well. A succulence and depth in tow. It feels premium, fine, good, concentrated, complex. … more

Playing up the darker elements of Montepulciano without losing the finer details is a tricky balancing act, but it's one that the cool climate of Hilltops lends itself to. Ravensworth's Monte is loaded with dark berry fruit, wild woody herbs and a shaving of dark chocolate

'Sourced from three vineyards in the Murrumbateman and Hilltops region. All batches were whole-bunch pressed and fermented at a pretty low temperature to preserve the delicate fruit. Some solidsy ferments to at texture and deeper impression of flavour. Citrus again, meyer lemon, grapefruit with hints of anise spice and flowers, more generous than the last few years but still the thrilling acidity and green apple crunch.' - Winemaker Notes

Viognier (40%), Marsanne (30%) and Roussanne (30%). Fruit is sourced from mostly 25-year-old vines grown on granite soils at 650 metres elevation. After skin contact for between four hours and a full day, the fruit was direct-pressed to demi-muids where it rested on lees for 12 months. It was then racked to 20 hectolitre foudre for a spell before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

'This wine was produced with the intent to make a dry style, but as the weather shifted I listened to the wise words of Grant Taylor and "just followed the Riesling". The Botrytis was impeccable, so the grower Tim Heyes, Grant and I broke this wine off into three, uniting my bond with the people of the Waitaki Valley forever.' - Winemakers Notes

Sierra Reed sources the fruit for the Alexia from a dry-grown vineyard planted in 1968. Fruit is harvested at dawn to preserve its delicate aromatics and fragrant perfume which would otherwise disperse under the Barossan heat. A benchmark modern Grenache, expect scents of pomegranate and pink lady apples, and a whiff of French vanilla and terracotta earth.
