This wine is made from specially selected fruit from Hugh and Isabelle Robinson’s vineyard on the Old Moorooduc Road, celebrating the individual character of this special site.
Pale green gold with a crisp citrusy nose. Lemon and lime with honey notes. With chardonnay, we do not inoculate for malolactic fermentation, but we allow the wine to go through it as wants. In 2015 it didn't, so we see tangy green apple aromas in the mix.
On the palate, the wine … more

'Picked from a certified organic vineyard in Balhannah, south facing slopes, single cordon and both cane and spur pruning, single clone I10V1. Displays light golden colour with aromas and flavours of brioche, roasted almonds, and hints of butterscotch and stone fruit. 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot.
"The aromatics in this wine are a pleasant mix of all of the varieties in the blend. Blueberries, violets and red currants from the Cabernet Sauvignon, red fruit and watermelon from the Malbec, dark berries and jubes from the Petit Verdot and blackcurrant and mulberry from the Merlot. Complex background notes of cedar, earth and tobacco are also apparent with very soft oak notes.

"There was some debate around a decade ago that this iconic Margaret River winery had lost a little of its glitter and that the wines were not what they once were. I was not quite as onboard with that as some - in fairness, it is not easy to remain at the pinnacle for a half century - but in recent years, the levels of quality they have attained have put … more

"Pie apple, pear, jasmine, toast and cinnamon. It's rich and flavoursome, a little warm in alcohol, but chalky and juicy, stonefruit, guava, pineapple, a pithy lemon/lime thing, a bit broad and throaty, but full of flavour and toasty spices. Solid." 91 pts - Gary Walsh, Wine Front

A kaleidoscope of lemon and lime, coconut husk, Vietnamese mint, fresh and zesty, you'll want to be sitting on a dessert island drinking this wine. The palate shows all that skinsy phenolic grippy pulp and texture with soft herbs, melon, a little bitter twang that leads into zippy refreshing acidity that's salivating and moreish. 41% Vermentino, 19% Ansonica, 19% Pecorino, 14% Falanghina, Moscato Giallo, Grechetto & Nosiola

Rocks are the defining commonality in both ceramics and wine. At its most special, wine is the pure expression of place, and for us that means expression of soils. The detail and nuance in great wine is thanks to its geology and the same could be said for ceramic glazes. MOTHEROCK decanters are the culmination of Claire's research and development using undervalued and discarded materials. MOTHEROCK glazes are the first of their kind, made using only local by-products sourced, crushed … more

One of the great Australian sweet wines, from grapes grown to be sweet and rich. It sits in the mouth with freshness, and lingers impossibly long and with a kiss of honey. A beautiful way to finish a meal.

Winery Notes - "Langi Shiraz is a revered benchmark for cool climate Australian Shiraz. From the fruit of old vines planted on our isolated vineyard in 1969, this landmark wine reveals the vibrant synergy between site and variety. The secret of what makes Langi Shiraz great lies in the unique character of the vines. The Langi Old Block shiraz vineyard dips and weaves across the landscape, proffering parcels of fruit of extreme complexity and stunning finesse. Each of these parcels … more

The 2019 Chardonnay is defined by its finesse and purity and, at this point in time, suggests nothing of the warmer vintage. Aromatically it is a little closed at first but opens up and fully expresses itself with time in the glass. The nose shows some preserved lemon, pear, white peach, cashew nuts and subtle toasty oak complexities. The palate is only medium-bodied but exhibits exceptional length of flavour and persistence. There are primary fruit flavours of pear, melon and … more

Producer Notes - "We aim to make a Chardonnay with great length, which reaches a balance between richness and elegance. While some techniques are borrowed from the Burgundians, there are some departures from traditional practice in response to local factors, which ensures a unique wine. The most notable of these is that our Chardonnay does not undergo malolactic fermentation, as our local climate leaves the fruit with the ideal acidity when it is picked. Our Chardonnay is matured in 30% … more
