Kuenhof Peter Pliger Riesling 2021

Located in the Valle Isarco and just 50km shy of the Brenner Pass and Austria, Peter Pligers wines reflect his admiration for the Mosel and Wachau but they are distinctively Italian. Peter is considered a pioneer of sustainable viticulture and believes that sustainable farming is essential if the microflora in the soil is to properly convert the various mineral elements into the soluble form needed by the vines. There’s a lot of deep thinking zen about Peter!

Anyway, the wine... aged in stainless and acacia botti, the 2013 is developing beautifully. Packed with intense flavours of lime, guava and white nectarine, the palate is just starting to show a touch of oiliness that puts another layer on a complex palate.
