Telmo Rodriguez Lanzaga Rioja Tempranillo 2015

Amongst a glorious olive grove on the clay and calcareous slopes of the Rioja Alvaesa, is Telmo Rodriguez' vineyard. Located within the cooler Lanciego zone of the Alavesa region, these vineyards have been cultivated over two centuries by the same family. As such, their knowledge of the area and the vines is extraordinary and it shows in the wines.

There is a very glassy synthesis in this wine between the fruit and oak, a fair whack of baking spice framing black cherry fruit and a gamey meatiness. The integration allows fantastic sense of palate weight, while still finishing fresh and crisp.
