Great summer drinking - very 'sessionable,' for when the sun comes out.

Don Ramon Vino Tinto Barrica is from the high altitude region of Campo de Borja in Spain. It jumps from the glass with notes of raspberries and mulberries & a lick of spicy wood. It's mid weight, rich in flavour and very soft.
Old school packaging to be sure, but ripping drink.

Made from Palomino, this is minerally with a hint of olives on the nose. It's dry - bone dry - with a salty and slightly appley nose, and the beginnings of a slightly oily texture. Long on the palate with a lingering salty finish.
A rarity - single vineyard Fino. Aged under flor yeast for 8 years to give the crisp tang of salty air - lightish and a touch herbal & floral, with a light, tight & firm finish. Delicious aperitif!
Sanchez Ayala are an undiscovered treat here in Australia. Much used by the Navazos project, this bodega makes some wonderful Sherries, of which this is a terrific starting point.
This is superb value.
Classic flor notes dominate the aromatics, but don't overpower the wine - there are still nuances of fresh bread, almond and saline notes. The palate is quite delicate but wonderfully fresh with excellent racy, salty flor-driven Manzanilla character.

This is a project with two family owned producers from northern Spain. Their wines are sourced from one of the finest family producers in Navarra and quite frankly the bang for buck is ridiculous!
The Tinto is a fairly equal blend of fun-loving Garnacha and Tempranillo, which adds brambly fruit and tannin to the blend.
Bottled November 2017.
"The Gypsy" from the seaside town of Sanlucar de Barrameda - the home of Manzanilla. Fresh, crisp & dry with the tang of sea air, it's a fantastic light aperitif, great with oysters or solo on a warm evening.

Fantastic value Manzanilla, and a great introduction to the dry end of Spanish Sherry. Light, flinty, salty, a little herbal (chamomile) with the tang of sea air that defines the manzanilla style. Bottled in screwcap & with the bottling date in English on the back. Delicious & progressive.
"We bottle and ship fresh every two months, to ensure this definitively crisp, refreshing young white wine is always in spanky form. Camomile and oyster-shell aromatics, Chablis-like mid-palate fruit, long … more

This Sherry hails from from "el Puerto de Santa Maria", and is called Fino del Puerto. Puerto de Santa Maria is down the coast from Sanlucar, roughly level with Jerez and faces Cadiz across an estuary bay. Gutierrez Colosia are one of the only remaining producers of authentic Fino del Puerto. The wine is lovely - pretty well a mid-point between Manzanilla and Jerez Finos in style. Coastal, but less overtly briny than Manzanilla. Delicately earthy with … more

Golden with straw/yellow hue. It's floral, skinsy, deep and open in style. There are sweet, nutty, savoury and bitter elements. Abundant small bubbles add to the skin richness, mouthfeel and weight. The freshness of air-dried-apple granola in the cool of morning jostles with … more
