Lake's Folly Chardonnay 2024

"100% Chardonnay, grown on our single-site estate vineyard, in Pokolbin, Lower Hunter Valley. The Chardonnay vines are grown on the flat southern edge of the estate, on white loamy clay. The elevation is 50-100 metres. It is hand-picked early in the morning, and chilled before crushing & de-stemming, followed by part-fermentation in tank, before completing the second part of fermentation in new, one year-old, and two-year-old small, French oak (225L barriques). "A first for Lake's Folly, this year's Red is a blend of Shiraz 47%, Merlot 34%, and Petit Verdot 19%. After harvesting our Shiraz, Merlot and Petit Verdot (and Chardonnay) grapes in 2022, we experienced very late harvest rainfall which impacted the Cabernet grapes, leading us to the decision to not harvest the Cabernet (the first time on record this has happened at Lake's Folly).
