Sitting at the highest part of the estate at around 450m, this single site has the oldest vines on the property and takes its name from the little church just above the vineyard. This Brunello 'Grand Cru' as Alessandro refers to it, takes a different path than his other 2 wines. Once picking is complete, all the fruit is placed into large wooden fermentation vats that see no agitation or stirring before fermentation - the fruit is simply left to … more

A full bodied, intense Rosso di Montalcino. Typically made from declassified Brunello fruit, the 100% Sangiovese in this bottling comes from vineyards 400m above sea level. After ferment in tank, it ages in oak barrels for 8 months. The resultant wine is harmonious and balanced, yielding scents of rose and red berries, a touch of balsamic and lingering spice and tobacco finish.

"Grüner Veltliner Weinviertel DAC I really love this year - a really quite consumer friendly wine because in the nose we have a very shiny and brilliant fruit - with aromes of a ripe green apple, some quinces, hints of warm yellow exotic fruits and also some really charming citric notes that give the wine a beautiful freshness . On the palate it really stays long and the fruits that you find in the nose get mirrored on the palate … more

"Few wine books can be described as category busters... that they rule a particular category, and can't be beaten... Now there's a fourth: Jane Anson's Inside Bordeaux." Jamie Goode, Wineanorak.com
Written by the author described by Decanter as "the world's most informed and accomplished expert on the wines of Bordeaux-bar none", Inside Bordeaux is a masterwork in scholarship.
Containing over 700 pages of in-depth writing, maps that are almost alarming in their detail, and incorporating newly commissioned and (literally) ground-breaking … more
Put simply: there are many books about this most captivating of wine regions - but nothing comes close to Inside Burgundy for its comprehensive depth and detailed information on the vineyards, the wine, the vintages and the growers of this storied region. Since its first publication in 2010, this work has become indispensable for Burgundy lovers and the undisputed benchmark reference on the region.
The exciting thing we can report here is that the fully updated, second edition takes things … more

Ischia is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, located at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, about 30 kilometres from the city of Naples. Ischia enjoys the surrounding deep blue sea, a mild climate, full of glorious sunshine, and is particularly fertile, full of oak, Cyprus, almond, citrus, and olive trees as well as wine grapes. Without a doubt, it is the perfect place to make leafy liqueurs.

"The 2017 Cepparello is another in a series of stunningly beautiful Cepparellos from Paolo de Marchi. Bright and beautifully focused in the glass, with tremendous depth, the 2017 is positively stellar from the very first taste. Succulent dark cherry, plum, licorice, spice, menthol and coffee all open up with a bit of air. Here, too, Paolo De Marchi has done a tremendous job in preserving freshness in the wine. Readers who can muster the patience will be rewarded with a … more

Producer Notes - "Mataro is one of the original varieties planted in the Barossa, and for good reason, it has stood the test of time to still be one of the most versatile grapes available to Barossan Winemakers
We are fortunate to have established a strong relationship with a grower that we consider the best in the Barossa; Adrian Hoffmann. This Mataro is source from two parts of his Ebenezer vineyard located in the north of the Valley. The 'Sand … more

"An incredibly intense and distinctive nose signals a cool harvest, with tobacco leaf and
tamarind combining with celeriac and white pepper to create a beguiling, intriguing and
enticing aroma. The texture is equally titilating, with assertive tannin and spice coiling
fluently with dark cherry, orange rind and Campari like floral. Ilt evokes recollections of
Barolo and Cornas, two of my favourite regions in the world, of course with our own
unique Eden Valley twist. A wine that changed gears overnight … more
