Cosmo Heathcote Basket Press Shiraz 2016

Made exclusively for Rathdowne Cellars by Pondalowie wine-maker Dom Morris, this wine offers great value and flavour. The 2015 is a blend of the Galli and Whistling Eagle vineyards in Heathcote, and as in past vintages, is basket pressed to retain the fruit richness & texture. It delivers the richness expected of Heathcote, while maintaining a lovely savoury edge underneath.

Drink now or keep for 3-5 years.

An Ape is Loose Heathcote Greco 2016

Totes delicious!

Now with a little timein the bottle, Andrews take on Greco has settled beautifully and is drinking a treat. Hints of exotic fruit, great freshness though and fine, briny-like finish. Summer drinking.

Wheeler Vino La Cavale Blanc 2018

Made from a blend of Riesling (2/3) from Bendigo and Chardonnay (1/3) from the Yarra Valley. Making for a very tasty white.

Barrel fermented in seasoned French oak, the La Cavale Blanc is a layered textural and energetic dry white that's highly versatile across many cuisines and is an all-round delicious no-nonsense drink.

Bress Silver Chook Heathcote/Bendigo Shiraz 2017

A formidable blend from two great regions. Heathcote confers structure and length whilst Bendigo gives plushness and generosity. Blended together we have a robust and powerful yet focused wine. Immensely drinkable now but cellaring for half a decade will also benefit this beauty.

Try serving up with a slow roasted marinated lamb shoulder, or if you're pressed for time, chuck some lamb on the bbq.

Chalmers Vermentino 2018

Ripe lemon, sweet fresh herbs, a musky perfume, sea spray. Soft and chalky, with a pleasing pithy bite, clean and cool feeling, dusty and lightly spiced to close, with good persistence. Feels good. Tastes good. Can be served cold, though I prefer the texture as it warms in the glass.

Syrahmi Demi Syrah 2017

Adam Foster is chef-turned-sommelier-turned-winemaker and seems to be really finding some glide to his stride. This is sourced from the Greenstone Vineyard in Heathcote, sees some whole bunch in the ferment and is sent to mostly older oak.

Great drinking here. Has glossiness to texture, a gossamer feel from satiny tannins, yet a strictness that cinches the wine in. It smells of red berries on briar, licorice, pepper and violets. It’s sweetish to taste but an amaro herb-like character makes … more

Vinea Marson Prosecco 2018

Pale straw in colour with slight green tinges, this sparkling has a very fine, refreshing bead of bubbles. It exhibits an aroma of bruised apple with a fine citrus backbone. Crisp acidity on the palate with lemon characters and a long finish all combine to make an altogether moreish Prosecco. Serve chilled.

Tellurian Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre 2017

This is one of the few Grenache based wines you'll see out of Heathcote. Made by ex-Balgownie winemaker Tobias Ansted, it displays the characteristic finely grained structure we have come to expect from him.

Darker and more savoury than your typical Barossa GSM, with lovely spice aromatics.

Lo Stesso Heathcote Fiano 2018

Fifth release of this wine from 2 very talented winemakers - Emily McNally (Occams Razor & Jasper Hill) & Georgia Roberts.

Sourced from a small parcel of Fiano grown in Heathcote, it was then part treated in stainless and part in barrel. This is a textured and lightly spicy wine, indicitive of what you might find in Northern Italy.

We feel it is sure this will become the benchmark for other Aussie Fiano producers.
