El Maestro's Amontillados are aged for six years under a full flor before being fortified and aged for at least another six years.
El Maestro Sierra Amontillado displays a delicate blend of roasted almonds, dried apple and more oxidative caramel and cedar characters. Like all the El Maestro Sierra wines, Amontillado is bottled en rama: with minimal fining or filtration.' Notes from the importer

'The Oloroso 15 años is the youngest Oloroso produced by this house. The fact that it comes with an age statement (other than the official VOS and VORS) is quite rare in the Jerez region. [...] dry, nutty start. Hazelnuts, brazil nuts. Umami notes of beef stock and dried mushrooms. On the other end of this earthy, darker side there is a brightness of bitter oranges and fresh figs.' 'A rich nose with intense flor. Cashew and walnuts, with hints of toasted pumpkin seeds. Some ripe apple. Briney olive juice. Light rancio notes as well, even a few cheesy hints which work well here. [...] A really characterful Fino that is a great ambassador for this artisan bodega.' SherryNotes.com

Producer Notes - "A very special and exclusive sweet wine made from a selection of grapes of the same name, properly dehydrated in the sun and turned into wine using artisan methods. Aged under the traditional system of soleras and criaderas over many years in American oak, it is a creamy, velvety wine with a balance of non-cloying sweetness and refreshing acidity.
Pedro Ximénez is obtained from the grape variety of the same … more

With an average age of 15 years, Cardenal Mendoza is one of the most famed (and popular) brandies in Spain. It's a ripe, smooth, sweet-spiced style. Lashings of xmas pudding (from maturation in old PX and Olorosso barrels). Good length and finish from such a generous style.

Intense and bright yellow colour with golden reflections. On the nose it shows floral, citrusy and herbaceous notes over a yeasty and mineral base. The finish is bitter and clean with a long, nutty and refreshing aftertaste.

This is a red vermouth based on two sherry wines selected by its enologist Manuel Lozano. One is a sweet and velvety Pedro Ximenez and the other a dry and nutty Amontillado - aged separately in their own soleras for 10 years.
The wines are then used to macerate more than ten botanicals and aromatic herbs like gentian, sage, absinth, coriander and orange peel. Each botanical macerates separately for optimal aroma extraction. The master blender then expertly combines the infused … more

Nº 51 La Bota de Palo Cortado Viejísimo "Bota GF" is another spine tingling micro-batch release from the same source as the stunning La Bota No. 47 "Bota NO" and No. 48 "Bota Punta". These latter two wines, along with the La Bota de Amontillado 49 "Bota A. R." from the same old collection of soleras, count amongst the most remarkable Sherries bottled by … more

46% alc. Single Oloroso cask. A Scottish Malt aged in Jerez! This is sourced solely from what Navazos refer to as a "prestigious distillery in Scotland" (hence the "overseas")--we don't know the exact distillery and perhaps never will. Its age is estimated at around 12 years, of which the past seven--as per the 89 Grain Whisky--have been spent in a single cask from a solera of very old, dry Oloroso Sherry.
It's a Whisky of remarkable character and complexity. It … more

During refurbishments to the historic Calle Misericordia in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (home to the La Guita solera), a number of special vessels stood out due to their size and origins. One such vessel was a magnificent tonel gordo (120 arrobas, i.e. a 2,000-litre cask) situated in a corner of the room, separated from the main rows of casks that were standing by the wall. Navazos had this single large cask filled with a selection of the best Amontillados of the … more

This brandy is born of the finest spirits or ‘holandas’ that were double-distilled in stills in the French style at 72% alc. Almost twenty years old, it has spent the first twelve in new Limousin oak butts and the remaining six or seven in dry oloroso butts. One of the latter has been selected and bottled by hand in its entirety. La Bota de Brandy de Jerez 64 'Bota NO' is a refined and stylish spirit that displays its true … more

This Sherry hails from from "el Puerto de Santa Maria", and is called Fino del Puerto. Puerto de Santa Maria is down the coast from Sanlucar, roughly level with Jerez and faces Cadiz across an estuary bay. Gutierrez Colosia are one of the only remaining producers of authentic Fino del Puerto. The wine is lovely - pretty well a mid-point between Manzanilla and Jerez Finos in style. Coastal, but less overtly briny than Manzanilla. Delicately earthy with … more
