Altesino Rosso di Toscana IGT 2018

Altesino's Rosso Toscana is made from 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that are hand-harvested from estate vineyards. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel followed by six to eight months of maturation before bottling. Crafted for accessibility, the fresh fruitiness of Altesino's Rosso Toscana is ready to be enjoyed upon release.

Angelo Negro Langhe Nebbiolo "Angelin" 2017

This leading estate in the Roero district has been a family affair since 1670. Today, it is led by Giovanni who is also mayor of Monteu Roero.

Conti Costanti Brunello Di Montalcino 2012 Magnum

Immensely inviting, this opens with fragrant pipe tobacco, crushed berry, new leather and pressed violet aromas. On the palate, firm, refined tannins underpin juicy black cherry, raspberry and cinnamon flavors, while orange zest accents and an energizing mineral note lift the finish. It's beautifully balanced with bright acidity and will reward a bit of cellaring. Drink 2020 - 2032. 98, Kerin O'Keefe … more

Fuligni Brunello Di Montalcino 2016

'The purity of fruit on the nose is perfection with cherries, crushed raspberries, mineral, pumice and citrus fruit. Dust, too. Full body. Powerful, chewy tannins. So long and muscular, yet polished and formed. Most structured Brunello I have ever had from here. A wine for decades. ' Try after 2022. 100 points, James Suckling

Fuligni Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva 2015

"It's hard to put down a glass of the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. This youthfully restrained yet remarkably pretty wine trades power for undeniable elegance and refinement. It's dark and moody at times, bright and focused on radiant fruits at others. Layer after layer of crushed black cherry, woodland herbs, autumnal spice, mint leaf, cedar box and earth resonate in the glass. Its silky textures coat all that they touch in a mix of dark red berries and salty … more

Il Marroneto Rosso di Montalcino 2017

A full bodied, intense Rosso di Montalcino. Typically made from declassified Brunello fruit, the 100% Sangiovese in this bottling comes from vineyards 400m above sea level. After ferment in tank, it ages in oak barrels for 8 months. The resultant wine is harmonious and balanced, yielding scents of rose and red berries, a touch of balsamic and lingering spice and tobacco finish.

Pertimalli Brunello di Montalcino 2016

I'm going to need convincing that 2016 Brunello will be a greater vintage (than 2015). Being there at vintage time both years, left me with the impression at least, that the producers couldn't have hoped for 2016 to be as good as the glorious '15 - so they weren't going to. But the sheer energy in this Pertimali may mark it as one of their 2-3 greatest-ever wines.

If checking in early, make sure to give the towering 2016 Brunello … more

Pertimalli Rosso di Montalcino 2018

This is/was simply one of my wines of last year, and as elegant and exciting as Sangiovese can get. Eric Guido of Galloni Vinous says "Wow". That's about right. - Importer, David Ridge

All the grapes are harvested as Brunello, with Rosso and Riserva being selected out after the wine has finished fermentation/maceration (10-15 days) - Rosso to steel then 6 months in bottle. Like 18's from elsewhere in Italy, this is cool and elegant, able to show clear, classy … more

Poggio di Sotto Brunello Di Montalcino 2012

Poggio di Sotto was established in 1989, 15 hectares at close on 500 metres above sea level. The vineyard is near the town of Sant'Antimo and southerly exposed in the eastern part of Montalcino. Thanks to nearby Mount Amiata, the climate is relatively mild. The vineyards are cultivated biodynamically and the yield is low, never more than 4 tonnes per hectare, or less than half allowed in the production guidelines.

"Poggio di Sotto has solidified its reputation as a topmore

Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2015

"Wonderful aromas of roses and sliced plums with wet earth and truffles. Then turns to raspberries and blackberries. Cherries, too. Full and firm with super integrated tannins that melt into the wine. It flows from the center palate in a beautiful sheet of fruit and tannins. Extremely long and coated with great finesse. Goes on for minutes. Better in 2022, but already a joy to taste." 99 Points - James Suckling (October 2019)
