Terrason Aligote 2018

'Grown in Whitfield on deep iron-rich volcanic soils. Natural ferment and malo in 2500L foudre. Aligoté is very much a grape that’s under-sung, at least to my way of thinking.

Intense ripe lemon acidity, crushed shells, pie apple, distinct ‘mineral’ feel, even though the viscous, creamy and toffee richness of malolactic is writ large. Has intensity, a subtle citrus peel bitterness, and a good surge through the finish. It’s very good.'

Winamker Marc Lunt was born in NZ however grew up in South Australia not too far from the Barossa Valley. His wine journey began with colombard on the Adelaide Plains before relocating to the Yarra Valley where he has spent the last ten years. However it was his decade working harvests in France that really brought him to where he is today.

This is a 100% whole bunch semi-carbonic Gamay from Whitfield in the King Valley. No added sulphur.

Thick as Thieves 'Purple Prose' Gamay 2018

Wonderful savoury, earthy notes combine with red currents and wild strawberries. Star anise and herbal aromas in the background. Light bodied with juicy fruits and super soft tannins. Don’t be fooled by the upfront fruit, there is a serious mid palate that soon kicks in. The tannins are so supple that this wine can be enjoyed well chilled on a hot day with no real impact on the structure of the wine.

Thick as Thieves 'The Love Letter' Sylvaner 2016

Subtle perfume with smells of lavender, rose water and cardamom pods. Hints of pine nettles, wet slate and malt. Great attack and energy as the wine fills the palate. Light bodied with incredible finesse. Gentle, chalky phenolic combines with pronounced acid to scrape the palate clean at the finish of each sip. Flavours echo the aromas of lemon pith and rose water with a touch of malt on the finish.
