Voyager Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 [Museum Release]

92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot. This wine, the classic Voyager release, comes from hand-harvested parcels of fruit from the Estate's very best vineyard blocks. The vines in these blocks average 40 years! Each parcel is kept separate during fermentation with some parcels left on skins for three weeks. Maturation is in tight-grain French oak barriques (50% new and 50% two-year-old French oak) for 18 months before final blending.

Days were warm but never hot, and temperatures dropped nicely into the evenings, allowing gradual ripening and acid retention in the grapes.
