Cascina Massaretti Pigato 2023

Located in the Ligurian Riviera at Albenga between the hills and the Mediterranean sea, Cascina Fèipu was founded in 1960's when Agostino Parodi began converting his father's (Filippo - Fèipu in dialect) orchards to grape growing. Since there were no appellations for Ligurian wine at the time, Agostino chose to name the winery after his father and their locality, Massaretti.

Pigato is also known as Vermentino, and this is one of the great examples of the variety.

Winery Notes - "Everton Hills vineyard is situated on the lower, warmer reaches of the Beechworth GI. At 282-metres, it grows solely nebbiolo which was purchased for the first time to make this wine. Handpicked, destemmed then wild-fermented in a large, concrete, open-top fermenter. Left on skins for 3-weeks in total. Pressed to a combination of seasoned Salavonian oak demi-muids and French oak puncheons and barriques for 9-months. Bottled under DIAM closure.
