Through the elevations and depression of the Rhine Rift the structures of soils are really different: from really old and usually deep soils, like Rotliegendes (red Slate), Buntsandstein (colorful sandstone) or Muschelkalk (limestone), up to younger soils like Hangschotter (gravel) or Lo¨ß (loess). Our vineyard side "Im Sonnenschein" has limestone, which developed 220 Million years ago. The chalks are maritime sediments with fossilized slugs and shells. Limestone is the best soil for long lasting, great wines!

Im Breumel is a historic walled section (a 'clos' in other words) within the Haardter Bürgergarten vineyard.
Expect a steady procession of flavours and structures building through the palate and anchored to tensile, nervy energy. When it gets going, the finish roars towards an extraordinarily long, complex and potent close. Müller-Catoir Gutswein NV 1000ml [2022 Vintage]
Dry. Screwcap. Gutswein is the base classification in the VDP for house wines that are blends of estate fruit. Müller-Catoir does not typically export this wine. Rather they bottle it in 1-litre format and mainly sell it only to local restaurants.
It is a blend of Riesling (at least 85%), with lesser amounts of Rieslaner, Scheurebe and Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc). It comes entirely from a single harvest although you won't find the vintage on the bottle as the Gutswein classification … more

Muller-Catoir Herrenletten Riesling 2014
Organic. The Herrenletten Erste Lage sits adjacent to Bürgergarten. The name Herrenletten combines both the historical and the geological: Herren, indicates that the region was owned by noble landlords in the Middle Ages; the second part, letten, refers to the type of soil-sandy clay with layers of limestone and chalky clay.
