Bright violet, this has expansive black raspberry, cherry and floral scents, along with suggestions of minerals and spice. Nicely concentrated yet also lively in character, offering bitter cherry and dark berry flavors that are enlivened by an undercurrent of juicy acidity. Juicy tannins shape the lush finish. Lovely

Jules Métras, son of the legendary Yvon, makes the wine in much the same way his father does and side by side in the same cellar - the fruit, harvested relatively late, is cooled down before gentle, long, cool carbonic fermentation with natural yeasts in sealed concrete vats. The attention to detail meticulous with little notes in chalk written in code all along the various small cement tanks, just like his father. And no sulfur, like his father.
