Chateau Potensac Medoc 2016
Potensac is an estate in the northern sector of the Médoc, a district renowned for producing tannic, brooding clarets which require significant ageing before drinking. It belongs to the Delon family, who also own the great Château Léoville-Las Cases, and benefits from being made by the same highly-skilled team.
The result is a wine of great complexity, one of the very best in the appellation. The wine is rich in blackcurrant aromas and with plenty of tannin.

Château Meillac Bordeaux Supérieur 2016
"Dominated by 85% Merlot, this classic right bank Bordeaux blend is packed with juicy fruit characters and wild blackberry; some notes of fresh tobacco and spice confirm that the wine has matured gracefully and is slowly reaching its ideal drinking time. It is generous and structured; the fleshy tannins carry the fruit to a very respectable length. Note that the ripe tannins help the wine keeping its poise in an open bottle for 48h, in fact it opens to a … more

Chateau Margaux Margaux 1st Growth 2009
A brilliant offering from the Mentzelopoulos family, once again their gifted manager, Paul Pontallier, has produced an uncommonly concentrated, powerful 2009 Chateau Margaux made from 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest primarily Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. As with most Medocs, the alcohol here is actually lower (a modest 13.3%) than most of its siblings-. Abundant blueberry, cassis and acacia flower as well as hints of charcoal and forest floor aromas that are almost Burgundian … more

Chateau Langoa Barton St Julien 3rd Growth 2016
55% Cabernet Sauvignon 37% Merlot 8% Cabernet Franc - 60% New Oak
Ruby / purple color, the intense and complex nose reveals hints of black fruit, brioche bread. The attack is vivid and velvety. The mid-palate enhanced the blackfruit notes, unveiled firstly on the nose and some toasty notes. The wine is juicy and fleshy with elegant tannins. Long length.
95 Points Wine Spectator & 96 James Suckling.

Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac Leognan 2009
A candidate for the wine of the vintage, the 2009 La Mission-Haut-Brion stood out as one of the most exceptional young wines I had ever tasted from barrel, and its greatness has been confirmed in the bottle. A remarkable effort from the Dillon family, this is another large-scaled La Mission that tips the scales at 15% alcohol. A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (47% of each) and the rest Cabernet Franc, it exhibits an opaque purple color … more
