Fontodi Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo 2017 Magnum

Note: Vigna del Sorbo became a Gran Selezione wine starting with the 2010 vintage, although the first vintage ever made was 1985.

"The 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo is another benchmark wine from Tuscany that shows the incredible potential of this iconic vintage. This beautiful single-vineyard Sangiovese reveals a graceful side with dark fruit intensity, cherry, plum, fresh violets and tilled earth. Tar, tobacco and licorice appear as delicate background tones, giving more volume and texture to … more

Fontodi Chianti Classico 2020 Magnum

Fontodi is located in the heart of Chianti Classico precisely in the valley which lies south of the town of Panzano and is called the "Conca d'Oro" (the golden shell) because of its amphitheatre shape. The region is famous for centuries for its tradition of quality wine cultivation, thanks to a unique combination of high altitude, calcar clayschist soil, lots of light, and a fantastic micro-climate - warm and dry with a marked difference in day and night-time temperature.

San Giusto a Rentennano Chianti Classico 2021

"From a balanced vintage that delivers acidity and structure, the organic 2021 Chianti Classico reveals a shiny dark garnet color and a clean, mid-weight appearance. There's so much energy and vibrancy on the bouquet, which is a quality that Sangiovese achieves when growing conditions are ideal. Tangy cherry, cassis, blue flower, violet and soft earth give this wine an authentic sense of place. So do the elegant mineral notes. This is a special wine (that is priced very competitively)." 94, … more

Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico 2020

Having been used for viticulture for over 3000 years, this Estate certainly has got the art of Chianti mastered. This wine, their entry level, is a stunning example of Sangiovese. Light, fresh and crisp, with sour cherries, leather and spices. The Sangio tannins take hold and embrace your tongue making this a great wine to match with food.

Rocca di Montegrossi Chianti Classico 2021

This is 90% Sangiovese with 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino, aged in tonneaux and barriques for twelve months. An intense ruby-red colour with violet reflections, the fruity aroma is atypical of Sangiovese with notes of cherry and wild berries. Harmonious, well-structured and lightly tannic, it is a wine that can easily mature for a period ranging from four to eight years.

Poggerino Chianto Classico 2021

One of our favourite producers in Chianti - 100% organically-grown Sangiovese, the Poggerino house style shows more fruit emphasis, but with power, weight & complexity.

"These new release from Poggerino are terrific. Piero Lanza makes wines of notable character that capture all the finesse of Radda. Over the last decade or so, quality has grown in dramatic fashion, driven by much gentler winemaking than in the past. The 2021 Chianti Classico is exceptional. A burst of ripe red/purplish fruit, lavender, … more

Toscolo Chianti 2019

Chianti is the backbone of Tuscany - 100% Sangiovese, supple with cherry fruit and a soft, flavourful palate with appealing balance and that essential tannin backbone that makes Sangiovese particularly food-friendly and versatile.

Toscolo, an Italian renaissance word meaning Tuscan boy, is Neil and Maria Empson's labour of love from a long-time passion for this extraordinary region. The Empsons chose friend and star oenologist Franco Bernabei to style the wines and their experience and expertise gives them access to a … more
