Outstanding! 90-93 Points - Allen Meadows, Burghound
'Soft wood frames the ultra-floral-suffused nose of pear liqueur, petrol and white and yellow orchard fruit. The impressively-scaled and lavishly rich big-bodied flavors possess evident muscle and power that really comes up on the bone dry and citrus-tinged finish that is so tightly coiled as to be somewhat strict. This will definitely require at least some patience and will need most of a decade to be at its best.' … more

"In 2013 this is indisputably more elegant than the Criots with its aromas of lemon grass, spiced pear, exotic tea and acacia blossom scents. There is a lush but vibrant mouth feel to the broad-shouldered, intense and muscular flavors that retain a lovely sense of refinement on the impressively persistent and well-balanced finish. In contrast to the more accessible aspect of the Criots this is more tightly constructed and will need at least several years of bottle age first." - … more

"Once again a highly restrained nose is largely dominated by reductive notes though it is clear that the fruit is ripe. Otherwise there is a lovely sense of refinement to the sleek, intense and concentrated medium weight flavors that possess fine depth and persistence on the citrus-tinged finale. This more energetic effort should reward up to a decade of cellaring, yet it's not so tightly wound that it could not be approached after 5-ish years of cellaring. 93/2028+" - Burghound, … more

"A pungent and relatively cool nose is comprised by notes of a wide variety of citrus elements, orchard fruit, rosemary oil and discreet petrol nuances. The very rich and opulent flavors coat the mouth with dry extract and the intense minerality helps to add lift to the lingering and well-balanced finale. This is sufficiently accessible that it should drink well young but it also has the stuffing to reward 6 to 8 years of cellar time." - Burghound

"An interesting nose combines notes of green tea, ripe white and yellow fruit and resin. There is a lovely sense of energy to the voluminous and delicious medium-bodied flavors that are succulent and round while contrasting nicely with the dry if not exactly crisp finale. This could be enjoyed young or held for a few years first. 88/2023+" - Burghound, Issue 79

BURGHOUND: A layered nose of pain grillé serves as a background for the exotic nose of peach, pear, pineapple, mango and hints of spice that introduce brooding and powerful flavors supported by thick and concentrated dry extract that stains the palate on the finish that seems to go on and on without end. While this is a wonderfully intense and dramatic wine, it's simply too exotic for me to warm up to though the concentration and depth are commendable. Tasted: … more

Making a mark in Cote de Beaune right now we find Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. Colin-Morey is notable for producing stunning, intuitive Bourgogne Blanc, which focus on site-specific expressions of the Chardonnay variety. He honed his winemaking skills working for his father, Marc Colin, and after inheriting 6 hectares of vineyards in St. Aubin, he quickly set about launching his own domaine in 2006. Almost immediately his wines were a tour de force. Having also worked as a négociant he's been able … more

From 45+ year old vines.
" A cool and restrained if exceptionally pretty nose combines notes of green apple, oak, resin and a whiff of rose petal. Not surprisingly the mouth feel of the medium weight is notably finer and markedly more mineral-driven as well on the clean, agreeably dry, clean and lingering finale. This is at once racy and refined and should age well." Outstanding 90-93 Points - Allen Meadows, Burghound Issue 71

Pierre-Yves, son of Marc Colin, has very much gone his own way, adding carefully to his own vineyards with a small roster of hand-picked growers from whom he buys. His deep cold cave enables him to bottle late without filtration, and the wine remains largely undisturbed throughout the winemaking process. The texture of the Chassagne is outstanding, matching the core of fruit. This is an exceptional Chardonnay. Smoke and struck match are paired with juicy lemons and blanched almonds, a … more
