The vineyard is located in the upper part of this famous parcel. It is on an eastern facing slope looking over to the Grand cru Corton. This year I used 30% whole bunch, 25% new oak. I started working with this appellation in 2014. This wine is always a blend of 2 parcels located in Comblanchien and Corgoloin owned by the same grower. Francois Millet & Fils Volnay 1er Cru Les Angles 2018

A new wine from Francois following the inaugural 2017 vintage. 2019 and 2020 are already in barrel to follow this first release. The 'triangle', Francois loves the elegance offered by this 1er Cru. He highlights that 2018 has given a completeness to the terroir without aggressive tannins. East exposition, lots of Limestone near the surface. 'Spicy', 'Oriental', 'Density' just some of the descriptors Francois uses with this vintage. Bottled in May 2020.

Famille Paquet Macon-Village "Nos Cinq Terroir" Chardonnay 2021

The Paquet family domaine was created in 1980 with transition in 2016 to the 3 sons who began conversion to organics. Macon makes some of the most approachable, delicious Burgundies that do not require too much patience to enjoy. Expect lively, vibrant flavours of grapefruit, honeysuckle, acacia & white roses work well with salty starters (nuts, olives) but goes equally well poultry & risotto for example - a perfect all-rounder.
