Pierre-Marie Chermette Beaujolais Fleurie Poncié 2021 375ml

Cork. Chermette's Poncie cuvee - drawn from a beautiful 4.5-hectare site of 45 year old vines on pink granite soils - delivers Chermette's most seductive and graceful cru bottling (especially when young). Poncie is one of the handful of celebrated highland terroirs along the ridge high above the village (Roche Guillon is another).

In 2020 this southeast-facing site has delivered a pretty, aromatic and spicy wine with fabulous freshness and drive.

Georges Duboeuf Juliénas "Château des Capitans" 2020

"A solid and compressed Beaujolais with cherry and ripestrawberry character, firm tannins and a medium finish. It's reserved now, but will open nicely with bottle age. Try it after 2023." 92 points jamessuckling.com (Jan 2022)

Pierre-Marie Chermette Beaujolais Les Griottes 2022 375ml

Stelvin.

Les Griottes means "small cherries"; exactly the kind of fruit character that you will find in spades in this juicy wine. Produced from 15-35 year old vines grown on dark granite soil in Saint Vérand area (of Southern Beaujolais), here we have yet another convivial, lip-smacking, ultra pure stunner from this benchmark grower that La Revue du Vin de France recently described as "...a reference for 30 years." On the palate you find the juicy texture, supple fruit and … more
