Equipo Navazos La Bota 96 Amontillado de Jerez Magnum

During refurbishments to the historic Calle Misericordia in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (home to the La Guita solera), a number of special vessels stood out due to their size and origins. One such vessel was a magnificent tonel gordo (120 arrobas, i.e. a 2,000-litre cask) situated in a corner of the room, separated from the main rows of casks that were standing by the wall. Navazos had this single large cask filled with a selection of the best Amontillados of the … more

Equipo Navazos La Bota de Brandy Single Cask. Bota NO (No. 64) 700ml

This brandy is born of the finest spirits or ‘holandas’ that were double-distilled in stills in the French style at 72% alc. Almost twenty years old, it has spent the first twelve in new Limousin oak butts and the remaining six or seven in dry oloroso butts. One of the latter has been selected and bottled by hand in its entirety. La Bota de Brandy de Jerez 64 'Bota NO' is a refined and stylish spirit that displays its true … more

Equipo Navazos La Bota de Pedro Ximénez 'Casa del Inca' 2017

Pérez Barquero, D.O. Montilla-Moriles. A limited release of 3,000 bottles (for the world), this P.X. is a nod to the past when Pedro Ximénez was often a vintage wine and released young without extended ageing, nor the resulting rancio characters that such maturation brings. This wine comes from late-harvested P.X. grapes from one of Montilla's best vineyards. Fortification is carried out only with top-quality, wine-based spirits. After 18 months resting in the traditional, large, cone-shaped 'amphora' of the type used … more

Finca Enguera Tempranillo 2022

There are many sides to tempranillo, earthy and dark, savoury and sultry, bursting with cherry cola brightness. The Finca is a fun-loving school night drop that does a little of each, its bright and juicy, with dark plummy fruit and a little hint of sarsaparilla on the back palate that leaves your mouth watering, ready for another sip.

Forlong Palomino 80/20 Blanco 2019

80% of the Palomino grape comes from the property "Pago of Forlong" (now "Pago de Balbaína baja") and is vinified in a classic way, worked in the winery obtaining the grape must from its berries and fermenting it in its deposits in a totally natural way with a rigorous control of the process. The other 20% of grapes come from the property "Pago Plantalina" (today "Pago de Balbaína alta") and is vinified as a red wine, with grape skins and … more

Gutierrez Colosia Amontillado 18% 375ml

"This is the entry-level Amontillado from Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia, located right by the sea in El Puerto de Santa Maria. It starts its life as a Fino and after three years it moves to an oxidative phase which lasts another five years. At the time of bottling, it is around 8-9 years old."

Nose: it’s easy to notice the Fino background of this wine. Maritime notes, some sea air, but also plenty of round notes like (salted) caramel, runny honey … more

Gutierrez Colosia Fino del Puerto 375ml

Bottled, May 2020.

This Sherry hails from from "el Puerto de Santa Maria", and is called Fino del Puerto. Puerto de Santa Maria is down the coast from Sanlucar, roughly level with Jerez and faces Cadiz across an estuary bay. Gutierrez Colosia are one of the only remaining producers of authentic Fino del Puerto. The wine is lovely - pretty well a mid-point between Manzanilla and Jerez Finos in style. Coastal, but less overtly briny than Manzanilla. Delicately earthy with … more

Gutierrez Colosia Oloroso 375ml

A bone dry Oloroso, product of very slow oxidative ageing : more than 7 years in butts.

Chestnut brown, watery quince at the rim. Sandalwood, golden tobacco and sweet spice

frame a rich, round nose of maple-roasted walnuts. The palate juxtaposes power and

elegance, with hazelnut praline, honey-drizzled green fig & toffee. There’s a fine line of

cold, over-steeped billy tea and forest smoke and a complex, fragrant tangle of autumn

leaves, balsam, spicy leather and mellow wood. A precise, … more

Hidalgo Amontillado 'Pastrana' VORS' 500ml

"I was really surprised by the unexpected sharpness of an new wine from Hidalgo-La Gitana, the NV Amontillado Pastrana. It is a new, single-vineyard Amontillado from a plot within Miraflores in Sanlucar de Barrameda. As with the Manzanilla Pasada from the same vineyard, this is a collaboration between Javier Hidalgo and Cristiano van Zeller from the Douro. This Amontillado is a wine averaging 30 years of age with a light mahogany color, quite bright and clear. The nose combines iron rust … more

Hidalgo Oloroso Faraon VORS 500ml

Grapes are sourced exclusively from vineyards in Balbaina and Miraflores, and only the free run juice is used for Oloroso Faraon. It's a dry oloroso - deep, rich and complex with a really intense flavour of grilled nuts but an astonishingly fresh acidity. A well-balanced and insatiably moreish style of Sherry that manages to walk a fine line between sweetness and richness. Hidalgo's tradmark minerality underscores notes of dried fig, walnut and caramel.

Hidalgo Oloroso Single Vineyard Anada 1986 500ml

A vintage sherry from 12 old barrels filled in 1986 from the El Cuadrado vineyard. The wine matured for 20 years in the San Francisco bodega and 2800 bottles were filled in 2007.

An epic sherry; smells mature, nutty and oily. A full, elegant palate shows the right weight and acidic cut, while salty flavors of peanut and caramel finish long, nutty. It has the elegance of Sanlucar with classy intensity and concentration. Some black treacle, cloves and wood spices. … more

Hijos de Rainera Perez Marin Manzanilla 'La Guita' 375ml

La Guita is the only sherry produced at the bodegas Hijos de Rainera Pérez Marín in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (part of the Grupo Estévez). The name comes from the old Andalucian slang guita meaning cash (its founder was renowned for wanting to be paid in cash). The more common meaning though is string (hence guitar), highlighted by the fact that every bottle has a string around its neck.

Now owned (since 2007) by Valdespino.
