Lightning in a bottle, mineral verve and tenacious salinity. It is elegant and cutting, dancing across the palate with electric ease showing lemon, lime and green pineapple and a final lashing of saline minerals. Prawns, seafood tapas and firm meaty white fish.
"2018 and 2019 are a return to cooler vintages in Rías Baixas, and I was able to compare the entry-level Albariño bottling from Albamar from both years, the youngest of which, the 2019 Albamar, had just been bottled. Here, they use purchased and own grapes, and it's produced in a fresh style. This is a little riper than 2018, which is sharper. Xurxo said this reminds him of the 2016 in the sense that this is ready and approachable. It has a vibrant saline finish. Despite its approachability, it should also last in bottle. 53,000 bottles produced. What I tasted was bottled in late April 2020". Drink date 2020-2024. 92 points Luis Gutiérrez, 12th Jun 2020 The Wine Advocate.
